Nursery

Nursery

Our nursery is part of our school and is a large and bright inviting classroom complimented by a very large outdoor space.

The nursery provides a morning session for up to 26 children with limited sessional care spaces available for the afternoon. Children start the September of the academic year after their third birthday.

All children attend every morning session with an option to stay all day in sessional care, either through the government scheme for free 30 hours childcare, or by paying fees for the extended session.

The classroom consists of different learning areas covering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. We provide opportunities for children to develop their knowledge and understanding learning through play. Children also have teacher led inputs to develop their understanding and get them ready for the transition to reception. We pride ourselves upon proving a positive, caring and stimulating learning environment. We provide consistent learning opportunities in both our indoor and outdoor learning environments.

Reception

Reception

Our reception class provides a caring, supportive and stimulating learning environment for all children. All children are given equal opportunities to learn and develop. Children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. We offer an exciting, play based curriculum with a combination of purposefully planned for and spontaneous learning opportunities. We also provide time for more focussed, adult led activities. We take a cross-curricular, topic-based approach to learning. Each term we will introduce the children to a new theme, making links to all 7 areas of the curriculum. We also follow the children’s own interests to ensure learning is tailored to meet their needs.

Children are encouraged to explore, question, reason and communicate. We also encourage children to express their ideas and feelings through a range of music, drama and imaginary play. As a whole school we celebrate being the ‘Best We Can Be’ setting high expectations for all children and supporting them in achieving their full potential.
